48-Year-Old Egle Wins Alternate Route 8K
Mike Egle still isn't too old to win an indidual title. The talented 48-year-old masters runner won the Alternate Route 8K on Sunday in Chicago, running a 27:19. Runner-up John Bartels, 43, also a masters runner from Chicago, was impressive as well, posting a 30:29. Third went to Michael Werner, 23, of Chicago, in 31:47. Mary Byrn, 31, of Chicago, was the women's winner in 36:27. Sue Abraham, 43, of Evanston, was second in 37:25, and Glena Cabrera, 31, of Chicago, was third in 38:36.
