Shamrock Shuffle Close to Closing

Well under 5,000 spots remain for the April 10 Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle. If you plan to run it, enter now. The field of 40,000 is about filled. I'll bet it closes before the end of the day.

Marathon Registration Under Way

You already know this, but I'm reminding you anyway. If you want to run the 2011 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, sign up now. The limit is 45,000, and it will fill fast. While you're at it, if you plan to run the Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle, do it now. They are close to 30,000 with a 35,000 limit. I saw Carey Pinkowski, executive director of both events, when I was at the CARA Awards banquet on Jan. 29, and he very enthused about both races. Stay warm. I'll be skiing and running. The American Birkebeiner events, which have 8,400 cross country skiers signed up, is just over three weeks away. I'll tune up with a 58K in Minnesota next week. Try it sometime!
