On a gorgeous day to run, the Fleet Feet Sports Soldier Field 10-Miler's maiden voyage on the CARA Runners' Choice Series circuit was a huge success. There were 7,365 runners who crossed the finish line at Soldier Field on a sunny Saturday on the lakefront. Leading the ferocious field was Jeff Jonaitis, 28, (photo) who clocked in with a blistering 49:38. The next four were Greg Costello, 28, in 50:31; Christian Escareno, 21, in 53:49; Dave Wilson, 40, in 54:05 and Dave Strubbe, 27, in 54:08. The women's field also was loaded. This year's champion was Jokotade Agunloye, 29, in 1:00:05. She was followed by Suetfei Li, 33, in 1:01:17; Meghan Kennihan, 27, in 1:01:47; Alona Bonai, 25, in 1:02:06 and Elizabeth Engel in 1:03:06. Looking through the age-group results, there were some spectacular times and great battles among the best runners in Chicagoland. Nice job, everyone!
