Magellan Half to Lyon, Moffenbier

Kevin Lyon, 26, of Evanston, won the Magellan Development Chicago Spring Half marathon on sunday with a 1:17:00.8. On a windy day along the lakefront, Lindsey Moffenbier, also, 26, of Chicago, was the women's winner in 1:29:58. Second and third men were Jeff Thomas, 30, of Chicago, in 1:18:09, and Paul Rollet, 26, of Chicago, in 1:20:08. Second and third women were Laura Rufo, 30, of Chicago, in 1:30:53.3, and Britt Kelly, 27, of Chicago, in 1:32:59.7. I have to mention the fourth-place finisher as well. It was a flash from the past, none other than Megan Levin, now 41, of Chicago, who ran a 1:33:35.4. In the accompanying 10K, Eric Lesch, 34, of Chicago, won in 35:16.8, and Liza Morich, 40 of Chicago, led the women in 44:23.5. There were 1,259 women in the half-marathon and 833 men.
