D-III Track & Field is about to be "rocked". From those of us tired of hearing how "great" North Central's and Auggie's programs are.... watch and learn boys...

North Central and Auggie will continue to dominate because they have two things going for them that can not stop success for them. History and respect. They both have a long line of history producing great success and great student athletes. They both also have a program in which the students respect the coaches. This is not the case for North Park and best of luck to the new coach who struggles to gain the athlete's respect.

This is an exciting time to be on the North Park Track & Field program!

Yes, North Central and Augustana have established programs with coaches to match. In my nearly thirty years of observing the North Track track program, a statement has finally been made with the hiring of Skip Stolley.
Congrats to Jack Surridge, Athletic Director for his decision to bring Skip on.

Skip's experience matches any other coach from high school to post college. I am sure the rest of the CCIW programs will concure. Yes, Skip will have many initial challenges building a solid and consistently productive team, but if anyone can, he will. I wish I had Skip to work with while I was at Norty Park.

I look forward to Skip's unlimited dedication and will be more than happy to volunteer when I can to support both his ideas and the program. From my recent visits on campus, I already see the future track athletes starting to embrace Skip's ideas.

Skip Stolley is a thief and a liar. Here is a guy that has never coached anyone that has been succesful and has made a living on stealing from post college athletes and events that he has been a part of. I give him maybe one season before he is made a fraud. Watch yout wallet North Park!

It has been a few months since Skip Stolley was hired and all that has been accomplished has been providing coaches with a facility to train themselves or their clubs if they can get in the doors. As for the current athletes, it seems that the team is struggling and they are still unsure of who is on the team as the season is near. (Check the roster, it way outdated and several of the athletes have clearly stated they will not run for this coach). He will be successful due to his connections, only if he doesn't get himself in trouble first. You must remember that DIII is not about competition but graduation and building character before just winning. Lets not lose sight of what NCAA DIII is really about these days.

Why would a college hire a guy that has never coached anyone. I believe in DIII you have to coach and put the athlete before yourself. Now I hear this guy is brining in Post collegiate athletes ot train. Fire this guy now before he tanks an already bad program. You need good young coached who are willing to put in the man hours and build relationships with younger runners. Not some old never was theif.

I give him one year until he people realize their wallets are light.

DIII is going to be "rocked" by North Park and there 100 year old coach...LOL to funny. I am sure the CCIW is shaking in their boots. Who hired this guy lol

To January 11, 2010 7:18 PM I could not agree more. Its about graduating and enjoying your college years not some old guy trying to impress DIII

This guy is ridiculous. He should not be coaching at a DIII school. He puts down his athletes and he brags about athletes that he has never really coached. So you made a 1:48 800 runner run a 1:47? Congratufreakinlations. Can you make a 2:05 runner run 1:53? Well... first you need to have runners and not treat them like bags of crap. Then, you need to earn their respect and have faith in them. North Park had this with other coaches that are now being misused or are no longer with the University. North Park was making its way back in to the thick of things. The men were projected to get 5th last year going in, but they screwed it up at Conference. The athletic directer is bogus. I'm waiting fir both him and Stolley to fall down the stairs. Until then...

I find it ironic that a Christian university hired the Anti-Christ to coach their athletes. The guy knows nothing about this sport other than that it requires motion of the legs which he is no longer capable of himself.

Yeah halfway through indoor D3 is getting so rocked...Try looking at the results and watching everyone get slower every weekend...this guy is SO legendary...<-----sarcasm for those of you uneducated enough to figure it out

WOW D-III Track and Field has been "rocked" by Stolley. Has anyone seen how bad this team is? I saw Skip at a meet and no one on his team talked to him. What a joke.

Skip Stolley is an arrogant POS and will always be. He does not look to be in good health either. Will probably not even make it through the year.

Some one told me about this Blog and I felt the need to add some feedback and some stories about Skip Stolley. Robert was a coach in Illinois in the late 70's. Stolley loved to try and pry kids away from schools they were attending with all sorts of wild promises to get them to run for him. If you know Skip then you know he loves to hear himself talk. If you are a high scool coach then know this, while Stolley is there I will never let one of my runners attend North Park, any coach still around from the 70's or any coach in our conference will tell you the same.------- IL High School Coach---Northern Burbs

North Park hired a very successful Cross Country coach, but what happened to their program. I haven't seen a roster change or any meet results this year for Coach Stolley. Perhaps he rand off the whole group again. What a shame. Great job vikings!

I think Stolley bit off alittle more than he can chew.

North Park should have hired a true track and field coach. The XC program had been amking tremendous strides. The fact that they were not the worste team in the conference speaks voulmes. They had a very good frosh male last year who I did not see in track or yet this year. Now it appears that cross country is non existent and who knows what that track team looks like. They should be kicked out off the CCIW

This is the best choice they made because this is a talented coach, my brother had the opportunity to know him and he told me he's really good in his work.
