Juhl Wins Foot Mechanics 13.1: Updated

Lars Juhl (photo) won the second annual Foot Mechanics Half-Madness 13.1 on Sunday in Batavia with plenty of room to spare. Juhl, 32, of Chicago, was by himself as he crossed the finish line in 1:07:45. Nick Hird, 25, of Naperville, was runner-up in 1:11:37, and Steve Imig, 32, of Geneva, was third in 1:12:28. The women's division was won by Lisa Phillps, 24, of Aurora, who ran a 1:27:42. Elena Shemayakina, 50, of Geneva, was second in 1:28:20, and Janeth Salazar-Ohst, 42, of Naperville, one of the area's strong and consistent runners over the years, was third in 1:30:45. Hird won the men's race last year in 1:09:20. Last year's women's champ, Carrie Day, finished in 1:32:38, good for fifth place this time. That time was 2:20 faster than her winning time last year. There were 989 finishers.

Race time at Oak Brook was 7:00, then 7:30, then 7:15, then finally 7:20...what a joke. I know they didn't want to turn away any walk-ups, but change the time once and stick to it.

I'm looking forward to Bob's comments on this race. Second year in a row! I could understand their first year having problems but shame on them!

I did a little write-up above on Oak Brook. As I said, I wasn't there, but I have heard from multiple sources that there were some lines at registration and the porta potties. How were traffic and parking? Any other comments?? Put them on the Oak Brook posting.

As a volunteer at the Mechanics 13.1 in Batavia, I found the race to be EXCELLENTLY run, with tons of positive energy. The race started at 7am right on time and the announcer was there to proudly announce every finisher. Congrats to all - I was proud to be a part of Mechanics 13.1.

The volunteers seemed passionate about the race and supporting the runners. This race was bursting with enthusiasm in all aspects! Very well organized from beginning to end. I will be back again!

The Foot Mechanics Half Madness is probably the best half marathon around the Chicagoland area. Race started at 7 on the dot. Aid stations were easy in/out with plenty of water & gatorade. Volunteers were great. I would highly recommend to any veteran runner or first timer. This is the course for you.

I volunteered for the 2nd year at this event and had a blast. I was stationed along the river trail and really enjoyed helping all the runners and giving them encouragement as they ran past. Couldn't believe how many people thanked me for volunteering - great people racing and a great group of people who have put this event together for the 2nd year in a row. One of these year's I will do the race itself!!! Great race and plan on being back next year and for many years to come!!

Bentley GT operate in the parameters of -4/+6 seconds each day. If you posses Breitling Avenger that has super quartz movement, then it is guaranteed not to lose or gain 10 seconds within a year's time. Different Chrono Superocean will move differently and have different features. Newer models will have the quickest and most accurate movement. This is because research is always being done to create better Superocean with faster movement.

Now, if you happen to be a woman who wants a Coach Outlet and can not afford to pay for Coach Hamptons , you will feel like a kid in a candy store when you view Coach Madison the available selection. In my opinion, you can find Coach Luggage Handbags on website.

The Lowrise from ED Hardy is more of a "cute" look than the Highrise, at least in my opinion. However, ED Hardy Shoes does not detract from the looks whatsoever! In terms of the hardy shirt version, this shoe can be found in the original laceless style as well as in a number of eye-catching and colorful hardy shirt designs.
