the circuit itself is probably only important to a handful of people and those are the people who win it. in my opinion, odds are, if you aren't one of the top 3 individuals or teams, you probably don't even know that it exists. i know there is good competition between the top runners and teams, but it seems that cara doesn't exactly do a good job of getting the word out to the masses when it comes to the circuit. i am not a cara member and i don't REALLY compete for cara points, but i do run for a team that tries to win the circuit, so i go to a fair amount of the races. as far as which ones are on the circuit, i am fine with them. there are some i do and some i don't. luckily, there are enough there where you can pick and choose. that's my two cents.
I've been a CARA member for over 12 years now and in prior years I have taken part in the circuit. However, they changed the selection of races a few years ago and made it more Chicago than Chicago Area so I stopped taking part. I've even tried to get on the selection team several times but was denied. The team seems to be a concentrate of runners from the city rather than the burbs. Just my opinion...
Keep it coming, people. Any races you'd like to see or not see on the Circuit?
